The image you see here is the result of a recent independent poll of 5,000 registered voters (most polls will poll under 1,000 people, so this is significant).
Lewis is tied for the top spot in this poll as his views most closely align with those of the voters in California.
While this is very good news, the fight gets more intense from this point forward. We will need all the support we can get to push Lewis over the top in the upcoming primary!
You can help out, no matter where you live, by donating, volunteering, and by helping to spread the word on social media.
Thank you for your continued support!
About the Polling Results
CALIFORNIA GOVERNOR RACE 2026
INDEPENDENT REGISTERED VOTER POLL
We are writing to you as a group of anonymous, registered voters in California, representing diverse political individuals that include Democrats, Republicans, Libertarians, Green Party, and No Party Preference (NPP / Independent) electorates.
We perceived a failure by mainstream media outlets to adequately present other viable candidates in the current landscape. In response to this, we decided to conduct our own, unbiased poll to gather broader perspectives from all voters.
According to the California Secretary of State's website, 105 candidates are seeking the seat of Governor.
Through extensive research (social media, forums, debates, interviews etc.) we identified 30 candidates who appeared to possess a strong path to achieving ballot viability.
In this first run, we surveyed 5,000 random Northern California county voters and provided the candidate's constitutional alignment, core policy details, and relatability.
Crucially, we deliberately excluded external factors such as current fundraising totals, endorsements, and party affiliation to ensure a focus on platform messaging.
This rigorous process successfully narrowed the field down to 10 gubernatorial candidates who resonated with the greatest impact on voters.
Disclaimer: This independent voter research group was unpaid and is unaffiliated with any special interest groups, unions, lobbyists, political party or the Associated Press. Just concerned Californians doing their part.
